The Well MCP server lives at https://api.wellapp.ai/v1/mcp. It ships continuously, so this page dates each change by its release day, newest first. Pick a day in the calendar to jump to it, or scroll down to go back in time.

A tool is retired only when a skill or another tool replaces it. Each retired tool below names its replacement.

Address entry, form fields and safer grant renewal

  • One address entry for every form: it prefills from known addresses, checks the address, and runs through widget-only tools.
  • One text field serves every form widget.
  • A client with a live OAuth grant from Dynamic Client Registration renews it in place. The person does not consent again.
  • The widget bundle loads a small shell first and the rest on demand, so the first widget paints faster.

Exact figures, coverage report and skill-first answers

  • well_get_computed_figures does exact decimal arithmetic on figures the assistant already holds. The assistant no longer adds amounts by itself.
  • A connector coverage report shows which data each connected tool brings in.
  • The server tells the assistant to load the matching skill before its first data tool.
  • A table sent on WhatsApp opens as a live records widget page.
  • A board stands behind each widget link.

Tool names, bounded results and invite links

  • Every tool name follows well_<verb>_<object>. A test enforces it.
  • well_get_connector_coverage returns a bounded result that fits an MCP host's context.
  • well_get_skill returns the full skill, also in Claude Code.
  • A person deletes a workspace invite link over MCP.
  • A write widget is shared straight from the result of the call that made it.
  • Measures state amounts in major units, never in cents.

  • well_get_billing_status reads the workspace's plan and usage.
  • An external MCP host sets a transaction category through its own approval step.
  • Preference tools check the caller's membership in each workspace.
  • Connectors that Well hosts run inside the server, not over a second HTTP hop. Calls through well_invoke_connector_tool return faster.
  • well_list_mail_senders declares a valid JSON Schema, so tools/list no longer fails in strict hosts.

  • The assistant drafts a plain email with no attachment.

  • Schedules: well_create_schedule, well_list_schedules, well_update_schedule, well_snooze_schedule and well_cancel_schedule run a task on a date or on a repeat.

  • well_hand_off_browser_task hands a web task to the Well browser extension by link.
  • Each widget opens on its own page from a temporary link, so a person can share it outside the chat.

  • well_remember and well_forget_memory let an MCP host propose a memory change. The change applies only after a person approves it in Well.

  • A verified MCP client mark stays bound to the client's redirect hosts.

  • well_get_memory reads what Well learned from a person's actions, so the assistant starts each session with that context.

  • Widgets render in French when the person's language is French.
  • Figure widgets resize to the width the host gives them.
  • A long background wait shows progress rows in Claude Desktop instead of a silent spinner.
  • well_wait_for_process counts its calls and stops the wait at 60 per turn, about 8 to 10 minutes, so the server ends the loop and not the model.

  • well_search_skill and well_get_skill serve Well's Agent Skills catalog to any MCP host. The assistant follows the same playbooks as Well's own chat.
  • well_enqueue_invoice_fetch asks Well to fetch missing invoices from a supplier portal.

  • Retired: well_get_burn. The burn skill sets the policy, and well_render_burn draws the monthly series.

Statement upload and token expiry

  • well_create_statement_upload, well_upload_statement_content and well_upload_statement_bytes import a bank statement from the chat. A recap card shows what came in.
  • An MCP refresh token has an expiry, which slides forward each time the client uses it.
  • Revoking a person's Well session also ends their MCP access.
