What Well does with your Wise connection

Connect

Connect Wise over API key: you generate a Wise key and paste it into Well, where it is stored encrypted at rest and never returned in responses.

Sync

Well brings balance, jar, and recipient in from Wise on a recurring poll that fetches only what changed since the last read. The first sync backfills history in the background and the connection stays live after.

Enrich

Well resolves each Wise entity into account balance, savings account, and person, assigns categories, and links every record to an audit trail across the rest of your connected tools.

Available

Your data from Wise lands in the workspace as account balance, savings account, and person you can search, chart, and automate.

Connect Wise in three steps

  1. 01

    Create a Wise API token

In your Wise settings, create an API token for your business account. You paste it into Well in the next step.

    • AuthAPI token
    • TransportWell-hosted MCP
    • Validationchecked against /v1/profiles
  2. 02

    Map your entities

Open Wise in Well's Connections panel and paste the token. Well finds your business profile with the token, so you do not select a profile.

    • Mappingpreconfigured by Well
  3. 03

    Use the data

Well then reads your Wise balances and the people you saved as recipients. Ask for the cash on each balance, or for the list of recipients.

    • First syncstarts as soon as connect completes

This connection brings in balances and recipients only. Wise transactions do not arrive through it today.

How Wise stays secure with Well

Wise connects with an API token rather than an OAuth redirect: you create the token in your Wise settings and paste it into Well, which reads your Wise business profile through the Well-hosted Wise MCP server. The token is encrypted at rest and never returned. Well reads your balances and saved recipients, and revoking the token in Wise cuts off the access at once.

Frequently asked questions about Wise and Well

How do I connect Wise?

Create an API token in your Wise settings. Then open Wise in Well's Connections panel and paste the token. Wise does not use OAuth for this connection.

What does Well read from Wise?

Well reads each balance on your Wise business profile, with its currency and its cash amount. A jar shows as a savings account. Well also reads the people that you saved as recipients. Business recipients are not included.

Does Well read my Wise transactions?

Not today. The Wise activity list gives each amount as display text, not as a number, so Well saves no Wise transaction. Your balances and recipients still arrive.

Which Wise profile does Well read?

Well reads your Wise business profile. When the token reaches one business profile, Well selects it for you. When the token reaches no business profile or more than one, Well reads no profile. Use a token that reaches one business profile.
